Patabamba Trek and Machu Picchu is the shortest but beautiful trekking in the region of Cusco in Peru. Patabamba is the beginning point to reach the Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo which is located in the Peruvian Andes. Near the popular Sacred Valley of the Incas. A dry season that runs from May to November and a rainy season that begins in December and continues through April. But we suggest you avoid January to March, which are the main rainy months. The dry months of April and November are pleasant.

Temperatures

For Patabamba Trek and Machu Picchu, the temperatures are relatively constant throughout the year. The days are warm (in the 20 degrees Celsius), at night and early in the morning they are cold (low numbers and below zero degrees Celsius in winter). Warm clothing will be required for the trekking.

For now, there is not entrance fees for Patabamba Trail; this tour can be done alone or with travel agency.

Alone.

Take a taxi from Cusco to the community of Patabamba and walk toward the westward through the valley next to the village, then follow the trail which will take you to “Siwa” community and then follow the trail until you arrive to the Inca site of huchuyqosqo, from there you’ll head downwards to the village of Lamay. From here you can take taxi or local transport to Cusco or to the train station of Ollantaytambo.
